We are looking for sites with large roofs (tennis court sized and up), high electricity usage (bills over £1k/month) and that are owner occupied (freehold) to host our solar panels with no capital outlay.

We’ve made it simple to work with us – here’s the deal:
The solar array will be owned by the members of the Big Solar Co-op, financed via a rolling community share offer, and there is no capital cost to you. We sell you clean, renewable power for less than you are currently paying for grid electricity – usually much less. The remaining energy is exported to the grid.
We manage the export and all regulatory issues with Ofgem and other relevant bodies. You will have annual reviews to see if we can improve the installation or add enhancements such as energy storage or electric vehicle charging. Our bottom line is to reduce carbon emissions, not to make profits.
We manage all service and maintenance, insurance, cleaning, monitoring, optimisation of panels and associated equipment such as inverters and cabling. We only work with carefully vetted installers and will only use panels that meet our ethical sourcing requirements.

WHAT ARE THE STEPS?
Site submission
Your site is submitted to our database and we’ll work with you to analyse it’s suitability for solar with us. It does not have to be south-facing, or in a particularly sunny part of the UK.
Commercial proposal
We’ll give you a commercial proposal based on an attractive electricity tariff and a flexible long-term legal agreement to site our panels on your roof.
Agreement
We do background work to establish the necessary Grid connection agreements, conduct Land registry searches and structural surveys. For a straightforward site this process takes about 6 months to get to installation.
Installation and Maintenance
We’ll manage the installation, operation and maintenance of the panels. You just pay a reduced bill for a proportion of your overall electricity spend.
