This year we gathered in Derby – what an amazing day all round! The sun shone, we sold out of tickets, had a delicious lunch and we got right to the heart of a good number of the opportunities and challenges around community solar. The Grade II listed Wardwick venue was pretty special as is the local industrial history of renewable energy and innovation, going right back to when water mills in the Derwent Valley powered the production of high quality silk and other textiles.

See below for the slides of the key presentations on the day:
Welcome & BSC update
Jon Hallé (Big Solar Co-op)
Midcounties Co-op partnership
Mike Pickering Midcounties Co-op
Encouraging investment in the Big Solar Co-op
Chris Bettles (If Not Now Digital), Joanna Coull (Green Investing)
Whiteborough solar – doing groundmount right
Richard Lane (Sharenergy)
Many thanks are of course due to our excellent speakers and numerous supporters for helping us to put on a jam packed event. As well as Aaron Childe from Painted Life for the always high grade videography and a big shout out to Derby-based Cherry Pickle Catering for such a beautiful and tasty spread of veggie and vegan dishes, many of which were locally sourced.
