Firstly, we want to say a big thank you to everyone who joined us for our Finding community solar sites webinar. Over 70 people attended on the night to learn more about identifying suitable sites for community level solar PV and we had some inspiring and eye opening discussion. The references that Gordon Coppock mentioned in his presentation can be accessed here: https://bigsolar.coop/resources
Here is the recording for those who couldn’t make it on the night or want to watch again.
Lots of attendees jumped straight in and registered as activist volunteers with us after the webinar and attended our OpenSolar array design training webinar. This fresh cohort have now been onboarded to our Big Solar Co-op technical tools and Slack workspace where they can get answers to their questions from the Sharenergy team and support each other while homing their new design skills. More info about getting involved as an activist volunteer within the Big Solar Co-op is available here: https://bigsolar.coop/volunteer
Aaron Yule delivered the webinar – but it was his last one…as he has landed himself a great new full time professional role in the wider energy sector. He joined us as an intern from Keele Uni’, in March last year and took on more responsibility as he learnt from the Big Solar Co-op team, eventually becoming a paid member of Sharenergy staff. We are sad to lose him but glad to have assisted with his progression in the early stages of his career. Thanks Aaron!
We can also announce that we have just hired a Solar Projects Lead who will be starting in early March. You’ll hear lots more about and from them in due course…
