Our latest install – 209 solar panels on William Lench Court social housing complex in Birmingham, has made us especially proud and demonstrated just how effective a community energy cooperative can be 💪🌞
The Big Solar Co-op model works best when a local Volunteer Member suggests a suitable site (in this case Tonia Clark) and provides a named point of contact. A solar array design can then be created by another Volunteer Member (thanks Michael Campbell!) and we are able to proceed swiftly to a commercial proposal.
This particular client had previously had a negative experience with another solar provider so they especially appreciated our transparent and carefully guided process, which included additional monitoring steps for reassurance.
The nature of their business – caring for older people, who are facing financial hardship or social isolation – meant a considerate approach to the installation itself was essential. Our chosen regional installer Nimbus Solar Ltd for this site did a great job and Lench’s Trust and their external survey consultants ARK were delighted with the results >>>
“Big Solar Co‑op has been a fantastic partner; professional, reliable, and delivering a smooth, trouble‑free installation. We’re genuinely excited about the long-term relationship ahead and the positive impact we can achieve together in not only reducing our carbon footprint, but also in costs for our residents.”
